Donald T. Rave Sr. is the founding member of the firm.  After graduating from Queens College in 1950, he entered the life insurance field with the Equitable Life Assurance Society.  After a short interruption for military service with the Unites States Marine Corps, he pursued the study of law at New York University School of Law, from which he graduated in 1956.

Stacey Tranchina has been of counsel to the firm since September, 1999, when she resigned from the New York Maritime Law firm of Bigham Englar Jones & Houston after the birth of her first child. [Stacey took the path into maritime waters naturally, following her father, Sam V. Tranchina, who for many years headed the Ocean Marine Department of the Great American Insurance Company.]
