Donald T. Rave Sr. was the founding member of the firm. After graduating
from Queens College in 1950, he entered the life insurance field with
the Equitable Life Assurance Society. After a short interruption for
military service with the Unites States Marine Corps, he pursued the
study of law at New York University School of Law, from which he
graduated in 1956.
He joined Mutual of New York in 1956 as a consulting attorney and was
one of the founders of its Advanced Underwriting Division. During his
thirty year career with that company he was elected President of MONY
America, the life insurance subsidiary.
In 1986 Mr. Rave established a law firm which he positioned to address
the needs of business and estate owners in the Greater New York
community.
Mr. Rave has authored articles for the Journal of the American college
of Life Underwriters, the Journal of Taxation and the Life Insurance
Management Research Association. He was also a reference source for the
New York Law Journal for current estate planning topics.
